Chang'an University
The Chang'an University, located in the ancient capital Xi'an, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of education of People's Republic of China. It is jointly built by the Ministry of education, the Ministry of transportation, the Ministry of land and resources, the Ministry of housing and urban and rural construction and the "Four Provinces and one province" of the people's Government of Shaanxi province. It is the first "211 Project" and "the innovation platform of 985 engineering advantages". The "111 plan", the national construction high level university graduate project and the outstanding engineer education and training plan focus on the construction of universities. It is the high quality resource sharing alliance of the high level industry characteristic university and the University of the alliance of China Russia Transportation University. It is one of the universities for recruiting students and the first students to recruit Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It has the only automobile comprehensive test field in the national colleges and universities.
In April 18, 2000, the original Xi'an highway traffic university, which was founded in early 1950s, was merged with the former three colleges of Xi'an Engineering College and the former Northwest Architectural Engineering Institute and renamed Chang'an University.
As of December 2016, the school had 2 teaching areas and 2 practice bases, with a campus area of 3745 mu. There are 21 teaching colleges (Department), 5 national key disciplines, 26 provincial key disciplines, 8 post doctoral research flow stations, 8 first class doctoral points, 50 doctoral degrees of class two, 26 first degree master's points, 118 two degree subjects, 78 undergraduate specialties, and 7 of public management and business administration. The authorized degree of professional degree is 16. It is the national university student cultural quality education base and the Chinese people's Armed Police Reserve Police Officer selection training base. There are more than 34000 full-time students, of whom more than 10000 are doctoral students, master's degree students and foreign students.
